Spaniard Nicola Kuhn has advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Filip Horanksy 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 on the courts of the Real Murcia Club de Tenis 1919. The 21 year old becomes the first player from our country to reach this far in the draw.

This Thursday, Carballés and Ortega-Olmedo will also try to reach the quarter-finals. The player from Tenerife, after eliminating Pablo Llamas, will have to face the American Alex Rybakov, while Ortega-Olmedo will play against the Frenchman Bourgue.

Italian Cobolli, Serbian Zekic, Frenchman Furness and Dutchman Griekspoor are the other players joining Kuhn in this part of the singles draw, all looking for a place in the semi-finals.

In the doubles, the big final of the weekend is already in sight. The Spanish pair formed by Barroso and Carballés, who will play against Sriram Balaji and Ramanathan on Thursday, are in the running. The other semi-final will be contested by the Italians Cobolli and Brancaccio against the Belgians De Loore and Vanneste.
